Article cover

About this Event.

- Are you an SME Business in the North East of England?
- Do you want to meet with other like minded businesses who wish to grow as an ethical business, share best practice and promote responsible working practices?
- Are you interested in learning more and positively contributing towards the environment, ethical working practices and your local community?
Then welcome to the North East Ethical Business Network!

What to expect:

Many business owners have direct experience of the consequences of late payment. It’s not ethical and there’s no excuse. When NIBE launched in 2013 it was the issue of most concern to the audience and, despite Government initiatives and regulation (with more on the way) late payment is still causing 50,000 small business closures annually.

On the 10th September, hosted by Nat West, we’re returning to this issue with input from Seamus Smith, Executive Vice President Global Payments and Banking at Sage, and Simon Hanson, regional manager for the FSB. We'll also have Catriona Taylor and Lisa Saxton from our chosen charity for the night 'Bright Red' a regional blood cancer charity.

Do you have a story to tell?
- Do you want to learn some practical steps you can take to prevent late payment?
- Do you want to help us make more noise about this fundamental issue preventing business growth?

If the answer to any of the above is ‘yes’ please join us at The North East Ethical Business Network

There will also be an opportunity to network with the other participants and to discover how they are striving to be more ethical in their approach to business.

All funds raised will be split 50/50 between 'Bright Red', our chosen charity for the night and NIBE. Catriona and Lisa from Bright Red work alongside a Board of Trustees to fight blood cancer for a brighter future across the north of England. At the event Catriona and Lisa will be talking about their charity and it’s work with ethical businesses, it’s internal governance and reporting, and the importance of budget management for a small charity.
